Small business growth is one of the most important factors in putting Americans back to work and getting our economy moving. Small businesses can transform an entire city block, hire new workers, and draw in other business; they can revitalize entire communities. That is why I am working for small business growth. I want your input on what Congress should do to help your business grow.

In these tough economic times, small businesses are facing many challenges, including gaining access to capital, hiring and retaining quality employees, and expanding their customer base. As your business has encountered these challenges, how have you dealt with or overcome them? I want to hear from you.

Our nation’s economic recovery is going to rely on small businesses growth through innovation, development, and creative solutions. I am working in Congress to ensure that your business can operate and grow this way – through innovative small business programs and tax credits in the American Jobs Act.

Len Barker played baseball from 1976 to 1987 for four teams: Texas Rangers, Cleveland Indians, Atlanta Braves, and Milwlaukee Brewers. He posted a career record of 74-76, with an earn-run average of 4.34.

2011 is the 30th anniverary of Len Barker’s pitching the 10th perfect game in baseball history and the 2nd Tribe player to retire all 27 batters without allowing a runner to reach base! It was May 15, 1981, damp, a small crowd of only 7,290 at Cleveland Municipal Stadium when Len Barker made baseball history when he pitched a perfect game against the Toronto Blue Jays.

Barker, who resides in Geauga County, operated a construction and remodeling business, which he learned from friends while living in Georgia, both during his playing days with the Braves and after his retirement from baseball.

He is currently pitching coach at Notre Dame College in South Euclid.
